River North is a neighborhood located in the Near North Side of Chicago, Illinois. It is located just north of the Loop, and to the west of Lake Michigan. Just keep in mind River North isn’t particularly budget friendly.

Safety isn’t much of an issue, River North ranks smack in the middle of the crime rate listing for all of Chicago.

Transportation in River North

Cars are not necessary in this area as parking can be a hassle and a large added expense. Public transportation is more than adequate to get you wherever you need to get in or around Chicago. The El and the bus line have stops in the area and taxis are usually easy to find. For most residents, the lack of parking makes owning a car a huge hassle. Most rely on public transportation and taxis.
